Marisela Sanchez

Dr. Marisela Sanchez recently join Integrity Insitu after more than 25 years of experience as a geomechanics specialist and business entrepreneur. She was President of OilField Geomechanics LLC, a women-owned business focused on petroleum geomechanics training and consulting, founded in 2014.  Marisela has more than 25 years of global industry experience in Geomechanics applied to Oil and Gas, having worked for Intevep, the technology arm of PDVSA in Venezuela; as President of Global GeoSolutions, an independent geomechanics consulting company in Latin America; for Geomechanics International as a project manager; and as General Manager and President of Itasca Houston from 2007 to 2014.  Marisela holds a PhD. from the University of Oklahoma in Geological Engineering and Geomechanics, a Geotechnical Engineering Masters Degree from Universidad Simon Bolivar and a Mining Engineering degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela.  Marisela has worked on many geomechanical projects around the world, and has presented at numerous geomechanics schools, training courses and invited talks. Marisela was honored as a 2012-2013 SPE Distinguished Lecturer and SPE Distinguished member in 2020, she has served as a director for the SPE Geomechanics Technical Section, and has been active in both SPE and ARMA (American Rock Mechanics Association), on program committees and conferences.
